It's no accident that Jan got to produce both albums the way he wanted without much interference by Liberty, a label that only wanted product to move out fast and that didn't trust their artists' musical choices/5(12).

8. Anthology Album is actually the CD reissue title of the old United Artists Legendary Masters Jan & Dean double album, which was the best historical overview of the duo ever done on vinyl. It remains competitive on CD, despite the existence of more comprehensive collections such as All the Hits: From Surf City to Drag City.9/
